The Citation III private jet introduced speed and mid-size roominess to the Cessna product line. This popular midsize business jet features six individual chairs and a two-place divan, enabling up to eight passengers to travel in style. A large galley and aft lavatory contribute to the functionality and comfort this outstanding aircraft provides.
Cessna developed the Citation III private jet to improve speed and cabin size from their highly successful Citation I and II models and is powered by a pair of Garrett TFE731-3B turbofan engines. The Citation III was a complete redesign from the ground up and began flying in 1979.
The standard corporate interior seats comfortably six to eight passengers. The Citation III set several class records, including two time-to-climb records and an overall speed record of 5 hours, 13 minutes for a flight from Gander, Newfoundland to Paris' Le Bourget Airport. Production continued for nine years until 1992, with a total of 202 Citation IIIs being built.
