    History

    The Falcon 2000 was developed from the 3 engine Falcon 900 with a streamlined fuselage and reduction of one engine to reduce operating costs. The Falcon 2000 shares the 900's wing and forward fuselage but the similarities stop there. The two new CFE738 engines offer big savings in maintenance and operating costs, but at the expense of some performance, cabin size and range. Dassault announced it was developing the Falcon 2000, then known as the Falcon X, in 1989 with certification awarded in 1994.
