History
The Citation Encore private jet is able to fly long distances, take off and land on short runways, and carry a large load. The cabin can hold up to eight passengers in fully reclining seats and is the longest cabin of any light private jet. The use of seamless wall panels, indirect lights and mirrors make the cabin seem larger than its actual size. Amenities may include individual flat panel entertainment systems, power outlets and a newly-designed entryway, which makes boarding a lot less difficult. The Citation Encore also has storage space for 43 cubic feet of baggage and can cruise at 426 knots at its maximum certified flight level of 45,000 feet.
The Citation Encore was developed from the Citation V Ultra, Model 560 with improved Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535A engines and a decrease in fuel capacity which limit the range to 1,700nm. Redesigned interior fittings and passenger seats provide more comfort and headroom and new passenger service units provide more even airflow and temperature control. The much improved thrust of the PW535 engines allow the Encore to climb faster and cruise higher. Its maximum cruise altitude is 45,000 feet. The Encore was certified in 2000 and delivered to customers that same year.
